There are moments in life when God speaks so clearly to our hearts and minds, making it evident that it’s time to move forward. It could be a new job, a major life decision, or stepping into something completely unfamiliar. But let’s be honest—these moments often come with fear, uncertainty, and my personal favorite, discomfort. Yet, one thing I’ve learned over the years is that when God calls you to move, it’s not about how you feel (and boy, do we have feelings, lol). It’s about being obedient and trusting His plan.
Here are some lessons I’ve gained during those moments of His gentle guidance:
Seek Godly Counsel
When you’re unsure or afraid, it’s wise to seek advice from trusted, godly people. Reach out to your pastor or talk to your spiritually mature friends. Share what you feel God is calling you to do, and ask for their insight and prayers. Their wisdom may offer the confirmation you need to take the next step. Also, hearing from others who have walked similar paths can remind you that you’re not alone in this journey.
Be Obedient, Always—Whether You’re Comfortable or Not
Obedience to God isn’t always convenient. It’s not always comfortable. In fact, sometimes it feels like He’s asking the impossible. But here’s the truth: it’s never about you. It’s about Him and His purpose for your life. Every act of obedience to God, no matter how small or daunting, brings you closer to fulfilling His divine plan. God isn’t asking for perfection, He’s asking for obedience.
Faith Over Fear
Faith is powerful. It’s more than just a belief system—it’s our weapon in a world full of fear and uncertainty. In moments of doubt or fear, we have to own our faith. We have to walk with it, speak with it, and live by it.
There is nothing more powerful than a child of God who stands firm in their faith. Faith sustains us when the road is rough and empowers us to walk through doors God opens, even if we feel unworthy. Faith isn’t about seeing the entire staircase; it’s about taking the first step, trusting that God will guide every step thereafter.
I’ve learned to harness my faith like the mighty weapon it is, especially when fear tries to creep in. And let me tell you, every time I leaned into my faith, God showed up—bigger, stronger, and more faithful than I ever imagined.
God Is and Will Always Be The Main Character in Your Story
When I look back on my life, I see God’s hand guiding me, even when I didn’t understand. He was the one opening doors, moving mountains, and making a way. And He still is.
When I’m tempted to make myself the center of the story, I remember that God is, was, and always will be the main character. My role is to trust, obey, and have faith in His timing and plan. Even when I’m scared. Even when I don’t have all the answers.
So, if you’re in a season where God is telling you, “It’s time,” and you’re feeling scared or unsure—move anyway. Be obedient, trust Him, and hold tightly to your faith. Remember, His ways are higher than ours, and He knows the path that leads to abundant life. God is writing your story, and He’s already prepared something extraordinary ahead for you. So, move with confidence—He’s got you!
Stay blessed, stay faithful, and keep walking in God’s purpose for your life.
yours Truly,
Beteline
