God’s Word Is Enough

Have you ever found yourself begging God for a sign, a miracle, or some grand gesture to remind you He’s still with you? I know I have. I’m always looking for that dramatic, unmistakable move of God. You know, the kind of jaw-dropping, earth-shaking miracle that makes you stand back and say, “Wow, God really showed up!” The kind that leaves no doubt He’s at work.

But what if I told you that sometimes, in those quiet moments when nothing seems to make sense, His Word is enough to carry you through? It’s in the waiting, the uncertainty, and the unanswered prayers where we discover just how powerful God’s promises really are.

Confession

Over the past few seasons, I’ve found myself losing hope because of the trials I’ve had to endure—unmet expectations and unanswered prayers weighing heavily on my heart. There were moments when I repeatedly asked God to prove Himself to me. At times, I felt guilty for thinking that way, but other times, I’d remind myself, “He knows my heart; He understands that I just need confirmation.” And in some of my hardest moments, God graciously reminded me that He was still with me.

It wasn’t until recently—yes, RECENTLY—as I was trying to figure out my new normal amidst all the changes in life, that the Lord whispered to me, “My Word is enough.” In that moment, I found myself responding in the Spirit, “You’re right, Lord. Your Word is enough and should always be enough in every season of life.”

His Word Is Constant

Psalm 18 is one of my favorite scriptures because it paints a beautiful picture of God coming to the rescue of those who call out to Him. In verse 6, it says:

“In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry to Him reached His ears.”

This powerful chapter highlights God as a protector, a deliverer, and a source of strength for those who trust in Him. Verse 7 goes on to say the earth quaked and trembled—God LITERALLY shook the earth to come to David’s rescue. I get chills every-time I read this Psalm, because we all need that constant reminder that God doesn’t play when it comes to His children.

Trust in His Timing

As humans, we often expect our circumstances to change instantly. However, over the years, I’ve realized that God’s greatest works are often done behind the scenes, shaping our hearts, refining our faith, and teaching us to trust in His promises—even when the evidence isn’t immediately visible.

SO, I’m here to remind you, as God reminded me, that His Word is enough. When life gets overwhelming, when prayers seem unanswered, and when expectations aren’t met, His Word remains true. God’s promises aren’t dependent on our circumstances. They don’t waver just because our faith does. His Word promises that “nothing can separate us from His love” (Romans 8:38-39). It also declares that “He will never leave us nor forsake us” (Deuteronomy 31:6). And let’s not forget, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).

We may not always understand why things happen the way they do, but God is always working, even in the waiting. We don’t always understand His timing, but we can trust that it’s perfect.

Here are some practical steps to help you stay grounded In Your Season:

  1. Recognize Your Season: It’s important to be aware of where you are in life and what God might be taking you or teaching you.
  2. Write Down God’s Promises: Go through your Bible and jot down the promises that speak to you in this season. Fill your heart with His promises and let them guide your thoughts and actions. These words are life, hope, and strength. (Check out the book of Psalms)
  3. Keep Your Eyes on Him: I remember during one of our women’s sessions, our First Lady reminded us of something powerful: there’s a big difference between being busy and just looking busy. Know your season of isolation/consecration. Life can get noisy, and distractions can easily pull us away from God’s presence. It’s important to intentionally remove or limit the things that take your focus off Him. Whether it’s social media, unnecessary obligations, or anything else cluttering your mind. When everything around you seems chaotic, FIGHT to keep your focus on God.
  4. Be Patient in the Process: Understand that God works in His own timing, and His timing is always perfect, even when we don’t understand it.
  5. Get Creative with Reminders: If you love colorful sticky notes like me, use them! Place them all over your home—on your mirrors, fridge, and at work. Fill your space with God’s Word as reminders of His promises.
  6. Speak Life Over Your Situation: Words have power. Declare God’s truth over your life daily. Speak His promises over your family, your circumstances, and your future.
  7. Find Strength in Community: Surround yourself with people who encourage and remind you of God’s faithfulness. Get you a prayer partner. Lean on others when your strength feels depleted.

Finally, Remember This…..

His Word is steadfast, unshakable, and eternally true. In the quiet moments, in the waiting, and in the stillness; when everything else seems uncertain, His Word is enough today, tomorrow, and forever.

Rest in that truth, and be unmovable .
